About this item

This commentary is written to help legal practitioners, judges, scholars and students interested in civil law to orient themselves in problematic issues of application of general provisions of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation on contracts (Articles 420-453). The book deals in detail with the legal regime of freedom of contract, the procedure of conclusion, pre-contractual liability and contractual assurances, framework, preliminary contract, option and other contractual constructions, contract interpretation, amendment and termination of the contract and many others. The authors have set themselves the task of highlighting the maximum number of complex and ambiguous issues of interpretation and application of the general provisions of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation on the contract enshrined in these articles, to reflect, if possible, all the accumulated judicial practice of application of these articles by the highest courts and, in some cases, to offer the best ways of solving the identified problems and conflicts.
